individuals are in police custody for their alleged involvement in the Saturday Opelika, Ala. shooting that injured a man and woman, according to a release. On Monday, Lee County, Ala. resident Shamon Danta Williams, 23, Auburn, Ala. resident Kayera Ahmun Cobb, 22, and Lee County, Ala. resident Damian Timez Williams, 23, were arrested at the Auburn Police Department at about 6:30 p.m. and charged with two counts of attempted murder, officials said. They were transferred to the Lee County Sheriff s Department jail facility, police said. According to the release, all three suspects may face further charges, and they are being held in the facility until the other warrants are executed.The Opelika Police Department said it was called to the 100 block of Chester Saturday at about 2:10 p.m. in reference to a shots fired report. Upon arrival, police found a 39-year-old woman and 24-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victims were later transported to the east Alabama Medical Center for treatment. The woman’s current condition is stable condition, and the man has been released from the hospital, according to police. The Opelika Police Department thanks the Auburn Police Department for its assistance in the investigation, Capt. Terence M. McMenamin wrote in the release. McMenamin said additional charges and arrests are pending.
